Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo (Drive)

Later proceed to Bago by car (1½ hrs), an ancient “Mon” capital. Sightseeing Bago : Visit Bago market and Kyakatwaing Buddhist monastery to observe the life style of thousands of Buddhist Monks. Continue to Kyaikhtiyo, (190 km, approx 4 hour). Upon arrival at Kim Pun base camp board on an open truck for (15 km, approx 1 hours) steep but well-paved road leads to the upper staging point to the renowned Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda site 1180 meters above sea level. (Optional : you can alight from the truck at middle camp called Rathae Taung and walk up (approx 4 km : 45 mins) or as an easier alternative to walking, four porters at an extra cost can carry you in a sedan chair.) The Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda, 7.3 meters high, built on a gold-gilded boulder, 25 meters in circumference, and balanced in what appears to be a very precarious position on a tabular rock jutting out from a ridge in the Eastern Yoma Mountains. Kyaikhtiyo is likely to be one of Myanmar’s most spiritual experiences. Stay at this scared place for the afternoon and return to Kin-pun camp by latest truck at 18:00 hrs.

• If client wants to walk from the upper area (from Ya-The-Taung, the final stage) approximately 4 km, up steep paths which ascend some 500 m to the GOLDEN ROCK, it is also can be done and you can just talk to the guide.
• Our given tour cost , is based on truck fare (from Kinpun camp to Golden Rock Pagoda Platform) sit together with locals, should you wish to have a seat at the front (or) wish to hire the whole truck for yourself, please check prices and pay extra directly at the truck station.)
• Clients can also take Cable Car from Ya-The –Taung – The Golden Rock- Ya-The-Taung. Cost (USD 05.- or Myanmar Kyat.10,000 .-) extra per person/per way. *Note: Cable car costs are subject to change.

Kyaikhtiyo – Thahton – Hpa An (Drive)

Later walk around the base camp of Kin pun camp and it’s village.
Continue the journey to Thahton (approx 42 miles – 1hr 15 minutes drive). Thahton known as Suvhanabumi or the capital of the “Mons,” before Bagan , where Bagan King Anawratha brought the “3 repository of Buddhist Scriptures”.

Visit Kawgun cave; that tells about Tha-Hton Kingdom which situated just before crossing the Thanlwin Bridge (HPa-An). This cave is adorned by millions of Buddha images and Buddha stories in stucco. Visit around the cave and continue crossing the Thanlwin Bridge and arrive to Hpa-An (from Tha-Hton to Hpa An : 28 miles, 1 hrs) the charming city is the capital of Kayin State. The place has amazing lime stone caves and mountains like Zwegabin mountain. Check in Hotel and sightseeing tour of highlight including visit to Kyaikkalat Pagoda (a small stupa on the boulder). You can also visit to village of small groups settled at the foot of the Mt.Zawekabin with their own believe and culture. Enjoy sunset at Shweyinmyaw Pagoda (at the bank of Thanlwin River).

Hpa-An – Mawlamyaing (Drive)

This early morning starts with Kaw KaThaungGu, a large lime stone cave full of Buddha statues. We visited the cave and walked a few minutes from the cave to the restaurant at road side where we start our journey for Kayaking. Kayaking on Paddy fields are unlike any other experience. We are in amidst of nature, water is calm, paddy fields are below us,Paddy birds here and there & mountains overlooking at us. I just simply enjoyed being enchanted by the nature of Hpa-an.

After Kayaking, we will start explore to the village where they make local alcohol from rice. We wondered around the village and visit to rice wine brewery, meet & chat with locals.Most of the villagers living there are Karen races.

Later in the afternoon, check-out from hotel and drive toward Mawlamyaing. (24 miles : 1 hr drive)You have reached the city of Mon State “Mawlamyaing” once well known by Rudyard Kipplin’s poem and exporter of Teak wood to all over the world. The capital city of Mon State is a very attractive tropical town. A hilly ridge above the city offers fine views over the harbour and the beautiful coconut tree shrouded countryside. The ridge is topped with 5 fine monasteries and shrines.

Mawlamyine

Visit to the local market of Mawlamyaing.

Drive to Mudon the famous place of Mudon textile with visit to Kyauktalone and Winsein Tawya (a place for Buddhist devotees with big recling Buddha), Hpa-Out Tawya meditation center and continue to Kyaik-Khami Yele Paya and return to Mawlamyaine.
Mawlamyaing still has beautiful teak wood buildings & monasteries of Golden days; evening visit to the city and teak wood monastery offered by Queen Sein Don of Mandalay and sunset view from Kyaikthanlan hill.

Mawlamyine – Bago – Yangon (By Train / Drive)

An early morning transfer to Train Station to take Train with Upper Class seat to Thaton. Arrive Thaton, Pick up and then drive to Bago (approx. 144 miles from Mawlamyaing to Bago). Bago sightseeing includes: SHWEMAWDAW Pagoda, over a thousand years old, its spire is even taller than SHWEDAGON Pagoda. The 55 meter long reclining SHWE THALYAUNG Buddha image is among the country’s most revered. Then drive back to YANGON (84 km – 1 1/2 hours), arrive and transfer to Hotel.
