Arrive Kathmandu β Nagarkot (Drive)
Upon arriving at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by our friendly representative. They will help you get settled into your private car, and you’ll begin your tour with a visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a must-see destination in Bhaktapur, situated at an elevation of about 1,320 meters, reaching up to 1,350 meters at its highest point. Unlike the other two main cities in the Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur has managed to preserve its ancient lifestyle, offering a glimpse into what the entire valley might have looked like during the medieval period. The city’s remarkable architecture, intricate woodcarvings, and exquisite metalwork harken back to the era of the Malla rulers, who were great patrons of the arts. The skyline is dotted with pagoda-style temples, while Pottery Square and the Durbar Square, dating back to the 12th century, are bustling with life and tradition. Bhaktapurβs festivals, some of which have remained unchanged for centuries, and its vibrant temple squares make it a living museum. The Durbar Square is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, attracting visitors from all over the world.
After exploring Bhaktapur, you’ll take a scenic one-hour drive to the hill station of Nagarkot, which is 2,175 meters above sea level and located 32 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. Nagarkot is renowned for its stunning Himalayan views, especially at sunrise. The sight of the Himalayan peaks bathed in the early morning light is truly magnificent. Surrounded by lush pine forests, Nagarkot offers a peaceful retreat with breathtaking mountain scenery and spectacular sunrise and sunset views. From this hilltop, you can enjoy one of the broadest views of the Himalayas in the Kathmandu Valley, including eight of Nepal’s thirteen Himalayan ranges: Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Mahalangur (Everest), and Number ranges. You’ll also have views of the Kathmandu Valley and Shivapuri National Park.
Upon arrival in Nagarkot, you’ll check in at your pre-booked hotel. In the evening, you can relax at the hotel while taking in the stunning views.
You’ll spend the night at the hotel in Nagarkot, enjoying a comfortable stay amidst the beautiful surroundings.
