Arrive Kathmandu
Upon arriving at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by our representative who will assist you in transferring to your pre-booked hotel.
Later, you’ll head out to explore Patan Durbar Square. Although smaller than Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square is rich in unique architectural styles. Highlights include the Manga Hiti, a sunken stone water spout, and the magnificent Krishna Temple, a Shikhara-style temple made entirely of stone. Located 1,400 meters above sea level, Patan Durbar Square is a stunning example of Nepalese urban architecture.
In the heart of the bustling Mangal Bazaar stands the famous palace of the Malla kings, known as Maningal Rajprasad, or the Palace of Maningal, believed to have been built during the Lichchhavi period (1st to 9th century). The grandeur of the palace complex was enhanced by later kings of Patan, including Siddhi Narasimha Malla (1618-61), Sri Niwas Malla (1661-85), and Yog Narendra Malla (1685-1706).
Outside Patan Durbar Square, youβll find other significant monuments like the Maha Buddha terra-cotta Shikhara temple from the early 17th century and the Hiranya Varna Mahavihara, or Golden Temple, built in the early 15th century. On our way back, we’ll also visit the Local Goddess Kumari’s house in Patan.
Youβll spend the night at your hotel in Kathmandu.
