Afterward, proceed for a city tour of Kolkata. Your first stop is Fort William, built by the British on the eastern banks of the Hooghly River and named after King William III of England. On the return journey, visit Ghoom Monastery, dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, believed to be β€˜The Buddha to Come.’ The monastery houses rare, handwritten Buddhist manuscripts. Next, explore Batasia Loop, where the toy train winds through a loop, offering a 360-degree view of Darjeeling’s picturesque landscape. The War Memorial at the center honors the Gorkha soldiers who lost their lives in various operations and wars after India’s independence.

A highlight of the monastery is a richly detailed and painted wooden panel depicting Guru Rinpoche in his Celestial Abode.

Next, visit the famous viewpoint to see the majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga and explore the Rabdentse Palace ruins.

Later, proceed to Daran Village, located about 8 km away. This village is mainly inhabited by the traditional Limboo tribe, though there are locals from other communities as well. Nearby, you can visit the Rimbi Waterfalls and Orange Gardens, which are close to each other.

After visiting the lake, continue to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, situated 16 km away from Tsonmgo Lake. This temple is dedicated to the memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh, a revered Indian Army soldier.

Later, drive back to Gangtok. The evening is free for you to explore at your leisure.
